Lyons Leadership & Community Class holds Kids Night Out

On Tuesday, December 20th, the Lyons Leadership & Community Class held a Kids Night Out at the Lyons MS/HS. Lyons Elementary School students came and enjoyed a night of fun with holiday-themed games in the gym, crafts and coloring in the cafeteria, and even a special visit from Santa at the end.

Due to the winter weather advisory for Wayne and surrounding counties, Lyons Central School District will be closed on Friday, December 23rd. We hope you stay safe and enjoy the winter break. LCSD will reopen on Tuesday, January 3rd, 2023.

Lyons Girls Basketball program visits the University at Buffalo

On Saturday December 10th, the Lyons Girl’s Basketball program had the fortunate opportunity to travel to Buffalo and experience a Division 1 women’s basketball game. While the game alone would have been an experience for the girls, Coach Betts and Coach McCormick had a few other things in mind. The coaches, both alumni of the University at Buffalo, were able to make some calls and set up an opportunity for the players to tour the campus and the athletic facilities, a privilege many non-athletes are not granted at the University.

Ms. Alicia Linzy Named 2022 Lyons Citizen of the Year

Lyons Main Street Program has selected Ms. Alicia Linzy as the 2022 Lyons Citizen of the Year. Before the December 15th Lyons Elementary School in-school Winter Concert, members of Lyons Main Street Program came on stage to announce that Ms. Linzy was their awardee. LES students and staff erupted into cheers and applause at the surprise announcement. Ms. Linzy has been teaching art at Lyons Elementary School since 2011.

Mrs. Erin Brooks joins Lyons Central School District as MS/HS Family Consumer Science Teacher, Student Activities Director

The Lyons Central School District welcomes its newest Family Consumer Science Teacher, Mrs. Erin Brooks, who joined the District this fall. Mrs. Brooks, who graduated from SUNY Cortland with her Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Education in 2009, and Canisius College with her Master’s Degree in Physical Education and Health in 2011, comes to Lyons after working at Dundee Central School District for the last decade.
