LCSD Capital Improvement Project Community Survey open until June 5th
A Capital Improvement Project is part of a long-range plan that addresses structural improvement needs across the district. Capital Improvement Projects provide much-needed educational enhancements, as well as infrastructure repairs and replacements. As we consider opportunities for improvement, we would like to gather input from our stakeholders. Please take a few minutes to complete the following survey. Finishing an "impactful" inaugural season, Lyons Lions Unified Basketball is here to stay
While winter across the Finger Lakes region may send many into hibernation mode, in Lyons winter is the most heart-pumping season of all: basketball season. But followers of all things Lions Athletics may have noticed basketball trickling into the spring season this year. Spring 2023 brought with it the first ever season of Lyons Lions Unified Basketball.

LCSD Food & Goods Drive running until May 25
Students across the district are feeling the positive, orange vibes as they round the corner on the final week of their student-led LCSD Food and Goods Drive. Due to the lessons about happiness and kindness learned in the Lyons CSD Orange Frog program, students from Lyons Elementary, Middle, and High Schools decided to come together to give back to families that are in need. The drive benefits Family Promise, whose mission is "to help families experiencing homelessness and low-income families achieve sustainable independence through a community-based response." Students are collecting food and goods for Family Promise through Thursday, May 25th. Learn more about the drive by watching our video.

Lyons voters approve 2023-24 school budget proposal
Voters in the Lyons Central School District approved the proposed 2023-24 district budget – 397 yes votes to 152 no votes – on Tuesday, May 16. Voters also approved – 443 yes votes to 105 no votes – a second proposition regarding authorization to expend funds from the Bus Purchase Reserve Fund (2022). Additionally, Melissa Taylor and Rich Henry were elected to the Lyons Central School District Board of Education by voters to fill two board vacancies. Each seat is for a 3-year term.

MS/HS Merit, Honor, and High Honor Roll students celebrated
Last week, Lyons MS/HS faculty and staff celebrated current Merit, Honor, and High Honor Roll students. Honorees enjoyed an ice cream sundae bar and High Honor Roll students also received a bumper sticker for their efforts.

Family Engagement Night, Budget and BOE Vote coming up on May 16th
Please join Lyons Central School District on Tuesday, May 16th, 2023 for Family Engagement Night! All activities will be held at Lyons MS/HS and are open to the entire LCSD community. All are invited to spend the evening learning about summer opportunities, clubs, and activities, as well as attend the Lyons Elementary School Spring Concert, and more. The LCSD Annual Budget Vote & Board of Education Election will also be taking place on Tuesday, May 16th, from 9am-8pm in the Lyons MS/HS Earl Buchanan Auditorium Foyer.

The New York State Sportswriters Association has named Jayla Bell, Lyons High School class of 2025, and Kamryn Bonnell, Lyons High School class of 2026, to their All-State honors list for the 2022-2023 season.

Oh the Places You'll Go, LHS Class of 2023!
Lyons High School faculty, administration, and staff recognized the class of 2023 during National Decision Day – held annually on May 1st – with a special "Oh, the Places You'll Go!" themed celebration. Students were surprised with a candy bar, a selfie wall, a place to pin their future destinations on a map, a gift of the Dr. Seuss book "Oh, the Places You'll Go!", and more.
