Peter/Wendy

Lyons High School to perform “Peter/Wendy”

Lyons High School students are in their last weeks of rehearsals in the play, “Peter/Wendy” By Jeremy Bloom which will be performed Nov. 1-4, 2018.

In this lyrical, atmospheric interpretation of Peter Pan, Jeremy Bloom strips the familiar story down to its emotional essence. Peter lures Wendy away from her nursery to the magical world of Neverland, where she joins his adventures with Tinker Bell, Tiger Lily, and the menacing Captain Hook. A low-tech, inventive adaptation that pays homage to the darker themes of J. M. Barrie's original, Peter/Wendy will mesmerize audiences of all ages.

The show is directed by Larry Ann Evans who wanted to mount the show, and let the actors perform, in a more intimate space, “This show just lends itself to having the audience right there, very close to the performers, and in a space where the “Neverland bang” can take attendees into a magical but slightly darker place.” Evans went on to say that, “this is not your Disney Peter Pan, this is Barrie’s Pan and the dialogue is straight from the original source.”

The cast is comprised of Anthony Sloane (Peter), Melanie Higgins (Wendy), Alexis West (Tink), Alyssa Larkin (Tiger Lily) Cierra Moody (Captain Hook), Seth Nesbitt (Smee), Jaxon Gittens (Lost Boy), Olivia Granger (Mrs. Darling) Shayla Prosser (Mr. Darling). The ensemble is comprised of Bailey Kehoe, Kezia Palmer, Mary Grasso, Ericka Moody, Faith Magwood, Kaila Granger and Brandon Garcia. Technical crew is comprised of Bailey Kehoe (Assistant Director/Costumes/Stage Manager),  Brandon Garcia (lights) and Alex Calvo (Sound). Graphics were created by Seth Nesbitt and Olivia Granger.

The show will be performed on the Lyons High School stage in a black box format. The audience will enter through the band room doors (a sign will indicate where) and not through the auditorium. Ample parking is available on the left side of the building. Only 80 tickets are available for purchase and are available from cast members and at the door. Performances are Thurs. Nov. 1, Fri.
