Lyons Central School District is excited to welcome Erin Hysick as the new principal of Lyons Elementary School. A lifelong educator, Mrs. Hysick has always wanted to work with children for as long as she can remember. Having previously served as the assistant principal at Livonia Central School District, she started her career as a general education teacher. She later obtained a master's degree in Special Education before becoming an administrator.
“I became a teacher because I love kids. I became an administrator because I love working with teachers who love kids,” she explained. Relationships, trust, and advocacy are at the heart of her approach. Inspired by teachers who believed in her, Mrs. Hysick is committed to supporting all students, saying, “This is personal for me.”
Her vision for Lyons Elementary School is to create an environment where students are excited to learn and feel supported. “I want students to enjoy coming to school, to learn, and to think independently—not just because they have to, but because they believe they can," she said.
