Ms. Triplett's class recently wrapped up an exciting two-week project on volcanoes! Students explored the parts of a volcano, how they form, and what happens during and after an eruption. To bring their learning to life, the class worked together to build a model volcano using newspaper, glue, and a soda bottle, then painted it to make it look as realistic as possible. The project ended with a fun and interactive eruption demonstration using a mixture of baking soda, dish soap, vinegar, food coloring, and water—giving students a hands-on look at volcanic activity in action!

Before school began, a small group of MS/HS teachers joined Coffee with the Coaches to collaborate and reflect on the 5-week Building Thinking Classrooms series. Teachers discussed key principles, shared practical strategies, and supported one another in applying these approaches to boost student thinking and engagement in their classrooms.
