Buddy Days are back! After last year's successful pilot year, our elementary students kicked off their first Buddy Day of the academic year by connecting across grade levels for learning, mentorship, and fun. Students got to know their buddies while working together on our ROAR expectations and building connections that remind us we are stronger together!

Seniors put their budgeting skills to the test during a Bite of Reality simulation with Reliant Credit Union! Students stepped into life after graduation, using a fictional monthly salary to make real-world financial decisions about transportation, groceries, utilities, loans, and even a few fun purchases. It was a hands-on lesson in budgeting, responsibility, and preparing for life beyond high school!

Mr. Askin’s first graders are building strong reading comprehension skills! While exploring nonfiction stories, students practiced making text-to-self connections by connecting what they read to their own experiences and what they already know.

Miss Hernandez’s 8th-grade Spanish students are brushing up on what they learned last year while building their vocabulary and practicing their speaking skills. A little friendly competition made reviewing Spanish even more fun!

Our high school students had the opportunity to explore what’s next at the Rochester Area College Fair! Representatives from 17 two- and four-year colleges and universities visited Lyons, giving students a chance to ask questions, explore their options, and learn more about opportunities after graduation.
