Athletes of the Month: May 2025
Outdoor Track & Field (Girls) - Kira Collett
Kira placed in the 100M and 400M hurdles at the League Championships and has been a leader for the team all year. She has participated in multiple events and relays throughout the season.
Outdoor Track & Field (Boys) - Marcus Wood-Asberry
Marcus has won several races throughout the season and finished first and second in the 100M and 200 M dash at the League Championships.
Baseball - Vernon Jinks
Vernon was a true leader on and off the field. He would always come to practices or games and give it 100% throughout the season. He will be missed on and off the field next year.
Softball - Baylei Reed
Baylei has led the team in several statistical categories throughout the season and has been a true leader on and off the field in helping the softball team win the Wayne County League title.
Boys Tennis - Rhylen Thurston
Rhylen had a very successful season at singles this year and advanced to the playbacks for doubles and individual sectionals.
Unified Basketball - Mya Sampson
Mya significantly improved throughout the season and had multiple games in double figures.
