Homecoming Week 2025 at LCSD was full of excitement and tradition! From creative HOCO proposals and a spirited pep rally, and the 2nd annual Kindergarten-Senior Walk, to our first-ever Yard Fest celebrating alumni from the Classes of the '6s, to the crowning of our Homecoming Court at the dance, and so much more! Last weekend, Ms. Gansz and the Lyons Leadership Class kicked off their first service project at the Purple Painted Lady Festival in Palmyra. Partnering with Embrace Your Sisters, a breast cancer support nonprofit led in part by Lyons alumna Krista Jackson, students helped with setup, worked the gates, managed traffic, and connected with thousands of visitors.

The class will continue their support with a Pink Out Night and 50/50 raffle at the home volleyball games on Monday, October 6th.

Mr. Bastian’s 1st graders read "I Promise" by LeBron James and discussed the promises they can make to themselves, their families, and their community. Students focused on promises that will help them succeed in school, then created their own to keep throughout the year. To finish, they made basketball hoop crafts with their promises, now proudly displayed in the hallway.

The Lyons Lions Modified Football team enjoyed a team dinner hosted by their parents and the Football Boosters. This tradition, held the night before every game just like the varsity team, brings players together off the field to build teamwork, pride, and community.
