This Week in Photos: April 6 - 10, 2026
This week, we celebrate Mr. Young, our MS/HS Assistant Principal and Athletic Director, in honor of National Assistant Principal Appreciation Week! From supporting students and staff to leading our athletic programs, his dedication and leadership make a difference every day. Thank you, Mr. Young!

The L.Y.O.N.S. Afterschool Program took learning and fun outside as students enjoyed time playing and connecting with high school staff mentors. These moments build meaningful relationships and create a positive space where younger students can learn, grow, and be inspired by those who support them.

Mrs. Brooks’ high school art class is developing their drawing skills by studying human anatomy step by step as part of their upcoming self-portrait project. Using guided videos, students work together at a steady pace, focusing on accurately drawing facial features and proportions. This approach keeps students actively engaged while allowing for individualized support and feedback as they grow as artists.

Mr. Behesti’s 6th-grade class is hard at work during math, building their skills and strengthening their understanding through engaging lessons. Students are focused and collaborating as they tackle new concepts and grow as problem-solvers.

Mrs. Shipley’s class is building their skills with iReady, practicing at their own pace while strengthening key reading and math concepts. Students stay focused and engaged as they work toward their individual goals and continue to grow as learners.

Ms. Johnson’s 6th-grade class is exploring the science of weather, learning how pressure systems impact the conditions we experience every day. Students are building their understanding through engaging lessons as they discover how changes in the atmosphere shape our weather.

Our Middle/High School Band and Chorus Spring Concert was a wonderful showcase of talent, dedication, and hard work. Students took the stage with confidence, delivering an impressive performance that highlighted their growth throughout the year. Thank you to our performers and music staff for an incredible evening of music! View the full photo album through the Performing Arts page: https://www.lyonscsd.org/page/performing-arts
