The Lyons Unified Basketball Team kicked off their first home game of the season with energy, teamwork, and a big win against Schroeder Gold! The gym was filled with school spirit as players, coaches, and fans came together to celebrate inclusion, effort, and sportsmanship. What a great start to the season—go Lyons!

Our 4th and 5th grade Book Club is in full swing after school with special guest Derek Poole from Our Community Reads! Each week, students dive into a shared book with Mr. Poole and Mrs. DeCracker. They are also working on writing their very own stories. It's a fun and inspiring way to build a love of reading, creativity, and community!

Lyons High School students attended the Mental Health Career Summit at Nazareth University, where they explored careers in psychology, social work, and creative arts therapy. Junior Brady Bastian was interviewed by WXXI News, sharing how the event inspired his interest in the mental health field. Lyons Elementary School came together to celebrate student success at the 3rd Quarter Assembly! Students were recognized for their academic achievements and personal growth, with awards highlighting their hard work, perseverance, and positive contributions to the school community. Lyons' 5th and 6th graders visited the Middle School Art Show at the Wayne County Council for the Arts, where they explored incredible works created by our own Lyons Middle School artists! The students were excited to see the creativity and talent on display. Don’t miss the public reception this Sunday, May 4th, from 2–4 PM—come celebrate our young artists!

Mr. Dailey’s class brought creativity and flavor to the table during their Food Truck Frenzy class! Students were judged on their mock food truck business plans and cooking skills, showcasing their entrepreneurial spirit, teamwork, and culinary talents. A fun and tasty way to put learning into action!

Lyons seniors participated in the Senior Showcase for Decision Day, where they shared their post-graduation plans with underclassmen. From college and careers to the military, seniors proudly displayed where they're headed next and offered advice, insight, and encouragement to the classes following in their footsteps.

The Lyons Class of 2025 kicked off their final weeks of high school at the “Oh, The Places You’ll Go” Decision Day event! Each senior received a copy of the beloved book, signed with heartfelt messages from LCSD staff, and watched a special video created by staff to celebrate their journeys ahead. It was a meaningful celebration filled with pride, excitement, and inspiration for the road to come!
