During Staff Appreciation Night, the Lyons Varsity Boys Tennis Team took a moment to honor the teachers and staff members who have made a lasting impact on their lives. Each player recognized a staff member who has supported, inspired, or guided them throughout their educational journey. A heartfelt thank you to Coach Boardman for organizing this meaningful tradition—and for her years of dedication, leadership, and care in what marks her final season before retirement.
Ms. Williamson's Kindergarten class celebrated a very special QU wedding, marking the end of their Q and U words unit! Students dressed for the occasion and enjoyed a fun, memorable celebration to help them remember that "Q and U will be together forever!"
The Lyons Lions Unified Basketball Team hit the court for their annual game against our neighbors from Newark—a tradition filled with friendly rivalry, school spirit, and unforgettable moments. This year, Newark hosted the event, and the stands were packed with students cheering on both teams. A special shoutout to the group of Lyons students who went above and beyond—making signs, bringing water, and showing up with nonstop energy to support our incredible Unified athletes!
Students in Mrs. Sandroni's class were hard at work on a variety of English 12 assignments. Focused and engaged, each student tackled tasks tailored to their learning goals, making the most of their time and support in this quiet, productive setting.
Three Lyons Elementary students were honored this week after their Mother’s Day essays were selected by the Lyons Elks Lodge. The students and their moms were celebrated as the 2025 “Mothers of the Year” at the Lodge’s monthly spaghetti dinner. For over 30 years, the Elks have kept this tradition alive, with many classes using the essay as a writing assignment. Partnerships like this highlight the strong school-community connection that makes Lyons such a special place.
Some of our Board of Education members visited Lyons CSD schools today to see the great work happening across the district. They spent time visiting classrooms and connecting with students, teachers, staff, and administrators—highlighting their continued support and commitment to our school community.
Middle school students enjoyed some quiet time in the library, diving into books and exploring new stories. It was a great opportunity to build reading skills, fuel imagination, and foster a love for literature in a cozy, focused setting.
