Ms. Becky and one of our elementary students share a joyful hallway greeting—proof that a warm smile and a familiar face can brighten anyone’s day at Lyons!
Mr. Cole's 3rd grade class explored story elements and structure by diving into drama! Students practiced using dialogue to develop characters and bring them to life through expression and voice. The goal? To become fluent, confident readers—all while having fun with storytelling!
Big thanks to the Lyons Elementary PTA for bringing the Imprint Coffee Truck to campus! Staff enjoyed a well-deserved treat right outside the school—just another way our PTA helps fuel our community with care and connection!
Mrs. DeNeef’s Math 7 class explored the four types of slopes—positive, negative, zero, and undefined—and where we see them in real life. Students examined graphs, described line directions, and practiced using "rise over run" to find slope. Up next: the slope formula!
Lyons Elementary staff brought the fun to morning drop-off by dressing up as i-Ready characters to get students excited to learn! Their creativity and energy added extra smiles to the start of the day as they greeted students with joy and school spirit.
This past week, several dedicated educators were honored at the Board of Education meeting as they were officially approved for tenure. Surrounded by proud colleagues, family, and board members, each teacher was celebrated for their commitment to excellence, growth, and the students of Lyons. Congratulations to all on this well-deserved milestone!
6th grade students visited the Middle School and put their problem-solving skills to the test in a fun escape room challenge—teamwork and critical thinking in action as they prepare for their next chapter!
Students across the district showed off their school spirit during Spring Spirit Week! From creative costumes to themed outfits, everyone brought their A-game, but two days stood out as favorites. At the Middle/High School, “Senior Citizen Day” had students hilariously channeling their inner retirees, complete with canes, curlers, and cardigans. Meanwhile, at Lyons Elementary, the halls were full of fun as students dressed like their teachers and teachers dressed like students!
