Lyons, NY – Lyons Central School District is proud to announce it has been selected as a recipient of the Building Opportunities for Out-of-School Time (BOOST) grant, awarding more than $1.2 million over the next five years to support students in grades 7–12.
Through the Lyons BOOST Project, the district will provide comprehensive out-of-school time programming after school, during school breaks, and on select weekends throughout the year. The initiative is designed to strengthen academic achievement, career readiness, and social-emotional growth while deepening connections between students, families, and the community.
Key components of the Lyons BOOST Project include:
Academic Support & Peer Tutoring – Helping students reach their learning goals.
Workforce Development – Career preparation, paid internships, and STEADY Work opportunities.
Social-Emotional Learning – Tiered support through the Orange Frog program.
Student-Led Engagement – Activities designed by students to strengthen family and community involvement.
Community Partnerships – Collaborations with Peaceful Schools, Literacy Volunteers, and local businesses to create meaningful opportunities for youth development.
