Small groups of elementary school band members performed festive songs in classrooms throughout the school this week, sharing the joy of music with students of all ages. Band teacher Ms. Williams led the group in bringing holiday cheer to Ms. Petty's UPK class, giving the youngest learners a fun and memorable experience while allowing the band members to practice their skills as they prepared for their upcoming concert.










Lyons Middle/High School’s Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) helped spread holiday cheer during the second annual Holiday Express! Working alongside the LCSD Transportation Department and the Lyons Fire Department, the group brought candy and festive spirit to the community. Thank you to the PTO, LFD, LCSD staff, and Main Street Program for making this special event possible.




Mr. Consadine's science class put their investigative skills to the test in a fun holiday experiment! Students had to determine the correct ingredient for Mrs. Claus’s cookies, sorting through a variety of products that looked like baking powder but weren’t suitable for the recipe. The activity combined problem-solving, critical thinking, and hands-on science in a festive and engaging way.









Mr. Cole's 2nd-grade class is getting into the holiday spirit! Students are busy creating festive projects and holiday cards, spreading creativity and cheer in the classroom.









Students and staff across the district showed their festive side during Holiday Spirit Week! From themed outfits to holiday accessories, everyone celebrated the season with creativity and fun, building community and school spirit district-wide.

















Students brought holiday cheer to the halls by decorating their hallways with creative, themed displays! Each class embraced a unique holiday theme, and the winning decorations were voted on and announced during the pep rally.






Elementary students had a blast at the Ohmann Theater watching Zootopia 2! Thanks to owner and Board of Education member Bob Ohmann, students enjoyed the full movie theater experience with popcorn, a drink, and a fun annual tradition.






Elementary students were welcomed to school with a special annual tradition as teachers sang holiday songs to greet them on their last day before break. The celebration was made even more meaningful with retired teachers returning to join in, and retired principal Mr. Clark making a special appearance on the drums, creating a joyful and memorable start to the day for students and staff alike.







The 2024–2025 Girls Varsity Basketball team proudly revealed their Section V banner during Thursday’s home game against Red Creek. The moment celebrated the team’s hard work, dedication, and achievement, marking a special night for the players, coaches, and the Lyons community.



Students in Mr. Beveridge’s FLCC English class explored cultures from around the world by researching holidays they were previously unfamiliar with. As a creative twist on the traditional research paper, students designed interactive board games to present their findings, allowing classmates to learn by playing.
