Sophomore Car’Mella Parker reached an incredible milestone during the Lyons girls basketball game against Clyde-Savannah, scoring her 1,000th career point. Head Coach Rich Hill said, “She is a hard worker and great team player who only wants to help the team in any way she can. This is a great accomplishment for a 10th grader.”





In honor of Music in Our Schools Month, we are featuring our elementary and high school band students who are hard at work practicing and preparing their music. From building foundational skills in the elementary band to refining their sound in the high school ensemble, these students are showcasing the dedication and talent that keep music thriving in our schools.













Student artists from across Wayne County showcased their work at the Wayne County Council of the Arts High School Art Show on March 1.
Lyons students earned several honors. In the 2D category, Elise Bass placed 1st, Morgan Koller 2nd, and Sha'torria Wilcher 3rd. Savannah Bennett and Brady Bastian received Honorable Mention. In the 3D category, Ariana Yanez earned 1st, Rylee Richardson 2nd, and Amanda Shaffer 3rd, while Violet Morahan and Tatiana Perez received Honorable Mention.
The Middle School Art Show will take place on April 12 from 2–4 PM.







High School students from the Leadership class visited the elementary school to share their love of reading in honor of Read Across America Week. The visit gave students a chance to read with younger learners, celebrate the joy of books, and even reconnect with some of the teachers and mentors who once taught them to read in elementary school.











Miss Faucher’s class turned test review into a fun challenge with a lively game of Jeopardy. Students worked together to answer questions, practice key concepts, and prepare for their Unit 3 test while adding a little friendly competition to their studying.




Students in Miss Richardson’s 3rd-grade class have been researching and creating projects about impactful women in history in honor of Women’s History Month. Through their work, students are learning about the achievements, leadership, and lasting contributions of women who have helped shape our world.











Mr. Benderski’s physics students put science in motion during a hands-on lab that measures the power of a vertical jump. Students recorded data such as mass, jump height, and time to calculate the power they generated.








Our 5th and 6th-grade students enjoyed a day of winter fun during their snow tubing trip to Greystone! Laughter, friendly races down the hill, and plenty of smiles made for a memorable day outside the classroom. It was a great opportunity for students to enjoy the season, build friendships, and make lasting memories together.







Principal Hysick congratulated students for their positive choices and hard work by presenting Cub Currency awards and celebrating with plenty of high fives. The recognition highlights students who demonstrate strong character and make positive choices in our school community.


Members of the 4th-grade basketball team, proudly calling themselves the “4th Grade Megafans,” showed their support for the Varsity Boys Basketball team as they prepare for the sectional finals this weekend at the Blue Cross Arena.
Looking up to the varsity players as role models, the younger Lions surprised them with matching warm-up shirts, the same shirts the 4th-grade basketball team wears, along with treats to wish them luck. The gesture was a special show of unity and pride, highlighting how the varsity team’s leadership, hard work, and sportsmanship have inspired the next generation of Lyons athletes who hope to one day follow in their footsteps.
