Lyons Middle/High School students took part in Walk or Bike to School Day this week, enjoying a healthy and active start to their day. The event was made possible through Cornell Cooperative Extension's Active People, Healthy Wayne grant, which encourages students and families to build healthy habits through physical activity.

Families, staff, students, and community organizations came together this week for Family Engagement Night at Lyons CSD. Attendees connected with local resources, explored community programs, and enjoyed a special performance by our chorus students. Thank you to everyone who helped make the evening a success!

Mr. Ryan’s 9th-grade history students put their knowledge of the Age of Exploration to the test with a game of Random Wheel Roulette before taking their quiz. The interactive review activity kept students engaged, encouraged teamwork, and brought out some friendly competition along the way!

Mrs. Kise’s 1st-grade students had a great time exploring nonfiction text features, with a special focus on diagrams. Using an elephant diagram, students discovered new facts, strengthened their reading and writing skills, and shared what they learned. We are proud of their hard work and all the great learning taking place in the classroom!

After reading Maus by Art Spiegelman, Lyons ' 8th-grade students participated in a powerful project exploring the importance of Holocaust remembrance. Through virtual interviews with volunteers from 3GNY and reflections on the TheirStory platform, students learned firsthand about family histories, the impact of intolerance, and the responsibility to preserve and share important stories.

The Lyons Varsity Softball team took the field this week, showcasing their hard work, teamwork, and passion for the game. From big plays to great effort throughout the lineup, the Lions competed with pride and determination every inning.

Lyons 4th-grade students recently visited the Rochester Museum & Science Center, where they explored interactive exhibits and engaged in hands-on learning experiences. It was a fun day of discovery and learning beyond the classroom!
