Larry Lake ReitrementFor 30 years, Larry Lake has been a familiar and trusted face in the Lyons Central School District, safely transporting generations of students and creating lasting connections along the way.

A 1971 Lyons graduate, Larry was honored at the June Board of Education meeting Larry Lakefor his dedicated service as a bus driver. Surrounded by his proud family, he reflected on a career filled with memories, from driving sports teams to having the unique privilege of driving his own children and grandchildren.

One of Larry's favorite parts of the job was the relationships he built with students. “My favorite part is seeing students light up when they see me, even years after I drove them,” he shared. “I've had so many good memories on the bus.”

As he enters retirement, Larry plans to continue farming, a passion his family jokes will keep both him and them busy for years to come.
