We are proud to celebrate our Lyons Elementary students who received Cub Calls Home from Principal Hysick during the month of January. These calls recognized students who went above and beyond and truly represented our ROAR expectations by being respectful, responsible, safe, and ready to learn.
From acts of kindness to positive leadership and strong effort in the classroom, these students showed what it means to be a Lyons Lion every day. We are so proud of you and thankful for the positive example you set for our school community.

Even in the cold weather, our elementary staff at drop-off, our crossing guard, and our facilities team are hard at work welcoming students, keeping everyone safe, and plowing and clearing our schools to start the day. Thank you for your dedication and commitment to our school community. It does not go unnoticed.

Through extreme winter weather and everyday challenges, the LCSD Transportation team continues to go above and beyond to keep our students safe and our district running smoothly.
That same care and dedication was on display when they welcomed former student Joshua for a special visit. While managing demanding winter conditions, the team still made time to share their work, reconnect with familiar faces, and create a meaningful behind-the-scenes experience for Joshua, who has a deep interest in buses and the team's amazing work.
“It’s nice to get behind-the-scenes experience of what happens in the bus garage,” Joshua shared. “I enjoyed catching up with them and loved that they remembered me.”
Thank you to our Transportation team for proving, on the coldest days and in the smallest moments, just how great you are.

Lyons Elementary School’s annual Breakfast with Santa is a special hometown tradition that brings holiday magic to our students. Each year, students in grades UPK–2 invite a guest to enjoy breakfast with Santa, creating memories they’ll cherish for years to come. Santa also stopped by to visit our older elementary students, spreading holiday cheer throughout the building.
Thank you to Mrs. Cinelli for coordinating this event, our cafeteria staff, and of course, Santa, for making the day so memorable.

Lyons Central School District was proud to take part in this past weekend’s Hometown Holiday events! The Lyons Main Street Program hosted its annual Shop Small Business Saturday, complete with festive shopping and a holiday movie at the Ohmann Theater. Our Leadership Class ran “Elf School,” helping kids make holiday crafts, while LCS administrators handed out hot chocolate in the park as families visited Santa with the Lyons Fire Department.
The High School Choir brought extra cheer by caroling throughout town and stopping into local businesses. We saw many bright student faces at the 2nd Annual Light Parade, including a standout float from the Lyons Music Program and Music Boosters. The parade was hosted by alumna Baylei Reed, who launched the event last year as part of her Leadership Class project. This certainly showcases the positive impact that LCSD students have on their community.
