Thank you to everyone who made it to A Snowy Night on Wednesday! And a huge thank you to everyone who contributed to make this special first-time event happen, especially the Lyons Leadership and FACS students.

The LHS Leadership Class held their 2023 Kids’ Night Out event on Tuesday, December 19th. The class planned a fun-filled night for UPK through 6th grades which included playing games in the gym, arts and crafts, and board games. Elementary students were also able to pick out a book to take home with them from the recent book drive held by the collaboration between the Leadership Class and FACS classes. The event was completely organized and executed by student leaders. Great job, all! 👏 Find more photos at Facebook.com/LyonsSchools

Congratulations to our final LES Cub Calls & Proud Paws Calls of 2023!
Amelia was nominated be her teacher, who wrote that Amelia: “is always following our classroom ROAR expectations. She is a great classroom helper when other children need help solving problems such as getting them on I-Ready lessons, or reminders on what the directions were so they do not interrupt the teacher's reading groups to ask for directions again.”
August was also nominated for a Cub Call! His teacher wrote this about him: “August is an amazing student and friend. He goes above and beyond everyday and always tries his best. He is very kind to others and helps them anyway he can. He is a role model to his peers! I am so lucky to have him in my class! Keep up the amazing work, August!”
Rowan was nominated for a Proud Paws Call by his teacher for “always following ROAR expectations and being a role model to classmates.” Awesome job, Rowan!
Eliza was also nominated for a Proud Paws Call for “always following ROAR expectations and being a role model to her peers.” Way to go, Eliza, and all of our December 21st Call students!

Zii was also nominated be her teacher, who wrote: “Zii is always smiling. Teachers stop by just to say ‘hi’ and see her smile. Zii follows directions in all special areas and in the classroom.”
Damoni also placed a call home for his nomination. Damoni’s teacher wrote that “Damoni follows the ROAR expectations every time he comes to my classroom. He always raises his hand, stays in his seat, is an active learner, and helps others without being asked. He especially touched my heart by giving me a very nice note about how much he loves Second Step, and having me as a teacher. Such a smart, kind, young man who is going to go far in life.”

We also had another Michael nominated! His teacher wrote: "He is a helpful classmate. He has helped other students when they missed instruction or with work, even if he had to get help to understand it at first. He is always behaved and has good manners. He is a good role model."
Khloe was nominated for being "consistently responsible, respectful, and taking ownership of her work and actions." Her teacher added, "however, what I want to point out most is her drive to be accepting and encourage others. Last but certainly not least, Annabelle was nominated for her efforts in being "consistently kind and helpful to others.
