As Afterschool Professionals Week comes to a close, we’re celebrating the incredible leaders of our L.Y.O.N.S. Afterschool Program and all the amazing staff who support it. Your dedication, creativity, and care help create a welcoming, supportive, and engaging space where our students can learn, grow, and shine beyond the school day.

This is what makes Lyons special. It’s people showing up for one another and bringing the community together. From students and staff to local organizations and families, that sense of support, community, and connection is what Lyons Pride is all about.
A special thank you to all of the teams who participated and made the night so much fun: Lyons National Bank, Glow Up Girls, Wayne County Sheriff’s Department, Lyons Fire Department, Lyons CSD Staff, Lyons CSD students, and even members of the audience who joined in on the action.
Congratulations to our championship team, the Lyons CSD students. Their win goes beyond the game, as they chose to give back in a meaningful way. The money raised at the event will be donated to Camp Kesem and Embrace Your Sisters, two causes close to their hearts.

The reigning champions, Lyons National Bank, are back and ready to defend their title. While you will see some friendly faces from last year's event, we’re also excited to welcome the Glow Up Girls’ Board of Directors team to the stage. They stepped up and brought the energy, becoming the only community team to submit a video entry and earning their spot in this year’s competition! Stay tuned over the coming weeks to hear from each team!
Just like last year, individuals will have the chance to sign up at the door to be called onstage and join the action.
Enjoy food trucks, raffles, and more throughout the night. This year, we’re also adding a meaningful twist. Donations will be collected, and the winning team will select a charity to receive the proceeds.
Bring your family, bring your friends, and bring your Lyons Pride.

We invite our entire community to come out and send the Varsity Boys Basketball team off today at 1:30 PM as they head to the NY State tournament this weekend. The team will begin with parade send-offs at both school buildings before receiving a full escort on their way out of town. Let’s line Route 14, make some noise, and show them what Lyons Pride is all about.
We couldn’t be prouder of the heart, teamwork, and pride they’ve shown all season. This team has felt your support every step of the way, and now it’s time to send them off in a way they’ll never forget.
We are the #LYPride! Once a Lion, always Lion.

Deputy Radka is more than a presence in our hallways. He is a mentor, a role model, and a trusted adult our students know they can count on. Whether he’s building positive relationships with students, supporting staff, or helping ensure our buildings remain safe and welcoming, Deputy Radka approaches every day with dedication, care, and commitment.
This past year, he received the Distinguished Service Award for his outstanding service to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office, the Lyons community, and as School Resource Officer at Lyons CSD.
Thank you, Deputy Radka, for your dedication and the positive impact you make in our school community.

Even in the cold weather, our elementary staff at drop-off, our crossing guard, and our facilities team are hard at work welcoming students, keeping everyone safe, and plowing and clearing our schools to start the day. Thank you for your dedication and commitment to our school community. It does not go unnoticed.

That same care and dedication was on display when they welcomed former student Joshua for a special visit. While managing demanding winter conditions, the team still made time to share their work, reconnect with familiar faces, and create a meaningful behind-the-scenes experience for Joshua, who has a deep interest in buses and the team's amazing work.
“It’s nice to get behind-the-scenes experience of what happens in the bus garage,” Joshua shared. “I enjoyed catching up with them and loved that they remembered me.”
Thank you to our Transportation team for proving, on the coldest days and in the smallest moments, just how great you are.
