The LCSD PTO and the Lyons Fire Department are teaming up once again to bring holiday magic to our community! The Holiday Express will be traveling through town, with music, lights, and plenty of cheer.

Lyons Central School District was proud to take part in this past weekend’s Hometown Holiday events! The Lyons Main Street Program hosted its annual Shop Small Business Saturday, complete with festive shopping and a holiday movie at the Ohmann Theater. Our Leadership Class ran “Elf School,” helping kids make holiday crafts, while LCS administrators handed out hot chocolate in the park as families visited Santa with the Lyons Fire Department.

The High School Choir brought extra cheer by caroling throughout town and stopping into local businesses. We saw many bright student faces at the 2nd Annual Light Parade, including a standout float from the Lyons Music Program and Music Boosters. The parade was hosted by alumna Baylei Reed, who launched the event last year as part of her Leadership Class project. This certainly showcases the positive impact that LCSD students have on their community.

During Red Ribbon Week, Lyons Central School District once again partnered with the Council on Alcoholism and Addiction of the Finger Lakes for the 15th Annual Red Ribbon Week Quiz. The Council’s mission is to empower communities through prevention, education, and support, fostering resilience across the Finger Lakes region.

The quiz served as an engaging learning tool designed to educate students and encourage meaningful conversations about substance use, mental health, and making healthy choices. Students who earned a perfect score were entered into a prize drawing, with prizes including a laptop, tablets, and earbuds.

Our Lyons Varsity Volleyball team has advanced to the Class C2 Sectional tournament Sectional Finals and will play Bloomfield on Friday, November 7th, at Caledonia Mumford High School. Game time is 5:00 pm.

This past weekend, our community gathered for a wonderful Cabaret Night filled with music and a delicious spaghetti dinner. The gym was beautifully transformed for the occasion, creating the perfect atmosphere for such a special evening.

Our talented students took the spotlight, sharing their vocal and instrumental skills with confidence and heart. They truly made the night shine.

Thank you to everyone who attended and showed support for our musicians. Events like this highlight the pride and connection we share as a district.

Lyons Golf is celebrating a major milestone this season. The team earned its first winning record since 2013, finishing 6-5-1 and showcasing impressive teamwork, growth, and dedication on the course. Three team members also represented Lyons at the Wayne County Golf Championships at Sodus Bay Country Club: Bryce McDonald (Junior), Cole Burnett (Sophomore), and Jacob Bookmiller (Freshman).
