A NEW NAME. A LYONS TRADITION. A LEGACY WORTH CELEBRATING.
Formerly known as Yard Fest, Legacy Fest is coming Friday, October 2, from 4–7 PM, leading right into our Homecoming Football Game!
Legacy Fest celebrates the past, present, and future of Lyons, bringing our school and community together to honor the people, traditions, and Pride that have shaped our story while celebrating all that’s ahead for our district.
This year, the Class of 2027 will help honor the classes that came before them, with special recognition of the Classes of 1957, 1967, 1977, 1987, 1997, 2007, and 2017 at 6:00 PM before the Homecoming football game under the Friday night lights!
Join us for:
• Live music from The Decades Band, featuring Lyons teachers
• Food trucks
• Alumni apparel for sale
• Bounce houses and games
• Local organizations
• Alumni recognition
• And plenty of Lyons Pride!
Whether you graduated from Lyons, have students here today, or simply call this community home, Legacy Fest is for you.
Come reconnect, celebrate our history, and be part of the next chapter of the Lyons story.

STUDENT SHOUTOUT: Shoutout to nine of our Leadership students who volunteered at the local Cable Pierce Memorial Pickleball Tournament this weekend, helping manage the courts and earning some high praise from organizers: “They were the best court managers we have ever had!” This is one of MANY ways our students step up to support our community.
More than 20 years ago, now Superintendent Dr. Barr created the Leadership Class as a teacher focused on giving back and making a difference in the community. That same spirit of service continues in the class today and throughout the entire district.
Thank you to Ms. Gansz and our students for continuing that tradition and representing Lyons with Pride!

We loved seeing so many of our students and families come together for our Back-to-School Bash! Our staff were there to welcome their students back, reconnect with families, and share in the excitement for the year ahead.
What made the night even more special was the incredible support from our community. Local businesses, food trucks, organizations, and partners came together alongside our students, families, and staff, making the night a true celebration of Lyons.
It was especially meaningful to see so many Lyons alumni giving back. Lyons alum Kimberly Boehm and the Hometown Team at Empire Realty Group helped make our students and staff feel extra special, while fellow alumni Robbie Kelley and Connor Orlopp of Kelley’s Barber Shop did something pretty incredible by giving FREE back-to-school haircuts to our students throughout the evening! There’s something pretty special about seeing former Lyons students come back home to support the next generation.
Students. Families. Staff. Alumni. Community. This is what it means to be part of the Pride.

This past week, our 6th and 7th graders got a head start during Middle School Orientation, learning bell schedules and locker locations, meeting teachers and principals, and enjoying plenty of fun activities along the way.
Current 8th graders and high school students also stepped up as orientation leaders, helping our newest middle schoolers feel comfortable, connected, and part of the Lyons community from day one.
A big thank you to Mrs. Brooks and her team for organizing two great days, and to our student leaders for showing what Lyons Pride and mentorship are all about!

Back-to-school shopping? We’ve got the school supplies covered!
Lyons Central School District is proud to once again provide school supplies for every UPK–12 student. It’s something we’re proud to offer our families and one of the many ways we work to make sure our students have what they need to start the year ready to learn.
Supplies will be waiting in classrooms on the first day of school. Families just need to provide a backpack and water bottle.
A strong start begins with having what you need, and at Lyons, we’re committed to making sure our students do. 🦁

Our first Summer Jam was a hit! Last week, Lyons CSD brought families together for an evening filled with fun, laughter, and community. From the foam party and bounce houses to smoothie blender bikes, food trucks, and local organizations, there was something for everyone.
The Class of 2027 joined the fun, raising money for their Senior Lock-In with a dunk tank and meat raffle.
Families could also stop by our registration table to learn more about Lyons CSD and how their child can become part of the Pride!
Thank you to Mrs. Erin Brooks and everyone who helped make our first Summer Jam a success. Fun, family, and community. That’s what Lyons is all about!
