Throughout November and December, our College & Career Counseling staff have been organizing trips with LHS students to regional colleges. Each field trip is unique and offers Lyons High School students a chance to experience each campus, meet current students, and ask advisors and staff questions. Congratulations to our most recent LES Cub Calls & Proud Paws Calls!
Brynlee’s teacher wrote that: “Brynlee is always helping other students and staff. She is positive and ready to tackle each day’s tasks. She is a wonderful example of ROAR expectations.”
Zii was also nominated be her teacher, who wrote: “Zii is always smiling. Teachers stop by just to say ‘hi’ and see her smile. Zii follows directions in all special areas and in the classroom.”
Damoni also placed a call home for his nomination. Damoni’s teacher wrote that “Damoni follows the ROAR expectations every time he comes to my classroom. He always raises his hand, stays in his seat, is an active learner, and helps others without being asked. He especially touched my heart by giving me a very nice note about how much he loves Second Step, and having me as a teacher. Such a smart, kind, young man who is going to go far in life.”
Be sure to read more about the LES Cub Calls and Proud Paws Calls in the December 2023 LCSD newsletter, which is being mailed out this week!

Congratulations to our most recent LES Cub Calls & Proud Paws Calls!
Abe's teacher wrote that "Abraham is an amazing student, classmate, and friend. He works hard everyday and is always proud to show off his work. He is very kind to others and tries to help them any way he can. Keep it up Abraham!"
Isabella was nominated by her teacher for "working so hard in class. She is eager to learn and always tries her best. She participates in every subject and contributes to class discussions. Isabella is so kind to her teachers and classmates, and has the biggest smile when she enters the room. I am so lucky to have her in my class. Keep up the amazing work Bella!"
We also had our first pair of sibling nominees, Michael and Hazel. They each were individually nominated by their own teachers, but were able to call home with Mrs. Taylor together!
Hazel's teacher wrote: "she is one of the best at following her ROAR expectations and always trying her best to work to figure out an answer. She is polite and always willing to help a friend or be a friend to whoever wants to play or work together."
Micheal's teacher wrote that he "has done such a great job this far following our ROAR expectations! He is kind to everyone, always ready and willing to help anyone in need and is working hard on new skills!"
Makai was nominated his teacher for "working super hard this year academically. He is always trying his best with all of his work and participates/volunteers in class discussions. Makai is making excellent choices."
We also had another Michael nominated! His teacher wrote: "He is a helpful classmate. He has helped other students when they missed instruction or with work, even if he had to get help to understand it at first. He is always behaved and has good manners. He is a good role model."
Khloe was nominated for being "consistently responsible, respectful, and taking ownership of her work and actions." Her teacher added, "however, what I want to point out most is her drive to be accepting and encourage others. She on more than one occasion has written notes to entire classes encouraging them to be kind and work together. She is very perceptive of the needs of others."
Last but certainly not least, Annabelle was nominated for her efforts in being "consistently kind and helpful to others. She is attentive, possesses a high level of energy for learning, and puts forth her best effort each and every day. She is a role model to her peers! Keep being amazing Annabelle!"
Congratulations to all of you on demonstrating excellent examples of ROAR expectations! 👏
