Last week, families, friends, fans, and alumni came together before the game as we celebrated our Lyons Varsity Softball Seniors on Senior Night and welcomed former players back to honor the legacy of Lyons Softball.

Join us tomorrow, May 19, at Lyons Middle/High School for the annual School Budget Vote and Board of Education Election. Polls will be open from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM in the Earl Buchanan Auditorium Foyer. While you're there, stop by our Family Engagement Night from 5:00 to 7:00 PM. Community organizations, local resources, youth sports sign-ups, and family activities will all be available throughout the evening. We encourage all eligible community members to participate in the voting process and take time to connect with the many programs and opportunities that support our students and families.

The Lyons High School production of Sweeney Todd was recognized at the RBTL Stars of Tomorrow Gala, celebrating excellence in high school musical theatre across the region.

Lyons earned awards for Overall Excellence in Acting Ensemble, Overall Excellence in Production Design, and Overall Excellence in Production Crew, showcasing the incredible talent, collaboration, and dedication of students both on stage and behind the scenes.

Several students were also individually recognized for their outstanding performances and contributions, including All-Star honors for Mason Gage and Levi Simmons, Tip of the Hat recognition for Mackenzie Kesel, Angelo Card, Alonnah Carter, and Megan Taylor, and Excellence in a Leading Role honors for Cooper Lancaster, Lydia Briggs, Lorna Retzbach, Mason Gage, and Corbin Salerno. Joelyana Sloan and Molly Houser were also recognized as Future Stars for their promising talent and dedication to the performing arts.

We are proud of all of the students involved for representing Lyons through their hard work, creativity, and dedication. Congratulations to our cast, crew, and music and theatre department on this recognition!

Yesterday’s Lyons vs. Newark Unified Basketball Game was a powerful display of skill, teamwork, and heart from our unified athletes and student spectators. The energy in the gym was unmatched, with our student body bringing incredible support and school spirit from start to finish.

Last Wednesday, our 2nd Annual Lyons Community Family Feud brought the community together for a great night at the Earl Buchanan Auditorium.

This is what makes Lyons special. It’s people showing up for one another and bringing the community together. From students and staff to local organizations and families, that sense of support, community, and connection is what Lyons Pride is all about.

A special thank you to all of the teams who participated and made the night so much fun: Lyons National Bank, Glow Up Girls, Wayne County Sheriff’s Department, Lyons Fire Department, Lyons CSD Staff, Lyons CSD students, and even members of the audience who joined in on the action.

Congratulations to our championship team, the Lyons CSD students. Their win goes beyond the game, as they chose to give back in a meaningful way. The money raised at the event will be donated to Camp Kesem and Embrace Your Sisters, two causes close to their hearts.
