The Lyons Middle School is excited to announce this year's "Launching into 7th Grade" event!

Who: Incoming 7th graders and their parents/guardians
When: August 25th from 12:00 PM - 6:00 PM
Where: Lyons MS/HS (10 Clyde Road)
What: It's an opportunity for all 7th-grade students to visit their classes, get their schedules, access their lockers, build relationships, and have fun before the school year begins!

This past weekend, Lyons came alive with hometown pride during the annual Peppermint Days Festival—and our LCSD students were right in the heart of it!

From marching in the parade to volunteering with local organizations and showing off their talents in community events, our students once again demonstrated what it means to be part of something bigger. Superintendent Dr. Barr also joined in the fun, serving as a judge for the always-adorable Kiddie Parade!

There’s nothing quite like small-town traditions, and we’re proud to see our students and staff helping to keep them going strong.

On Tuesday evening, members of the Lyons Central School District Board of Education were officially sworn in. Mark Bookmiller was welcomed as our newest elected board member. Lisa Stone was re-elected to continue her service. Brady Bastian was sworn in as this year’s student representative. We’re also proud to share that Martha Bailey will continue to serve as this year’s Board President, and Lisa Stone was selected as Vice President. Thank you to all of our Board members for your leadership and dedication to the students, staff, and families of Lyons CSD.

Last night’s 6th Grade Graduation was a celebration to remember as we honored the Class of 2031—our soon-to-be middle schoolers! A huge shoutout to our incredible 6th-grade teachers for guiding and supporting these students every step of the way. 🎓 Kicking off Graduation Week with LCSD Pride! 🎓 Just over a week ago, the Class of 2025 participated in the heartwarming tradition of the Senior Walk, marking the beginning of their final chapter at Lyons Central School District. Led by our Valedictorian and Salutatorian, seniors made their way from the high school to the elementary building, escorted by the Lyons Fire Department and Wayne County Sheriff’s Office. As they entered the halls, they were greeted by roaring cheers, handmade signs, high fives, and in many cases, heartfelt hugs from family members and former teachers. This special moment is more than a celebration—it's a powerful reflection of community, mentorship, and LCSD pride. Last week, Lyons Middle/High School came together for our annual Moving-Up Day Ceremony—a special tradition to close out the school year with celebration and pride! 🎓 Seniors were honored for their accomplishments and growth as they prepare to take the next step beyond LCSD. 🏆 Academic and athletic awards were presented to recognize the hard work, leadership, and achievements of our students and coaches throughout the year. 🛠️ Our incredible Facilities team was celebrated for their year-round dedication—working behind the scenes to maintain our buildings, support student events, and keep our athletic fields ready for play. 💵 Seniors from the Advanced Leadership Class presented a check for over $2,000 to Galisano Children's Hospital, raised from their Grandslam Giveback Softball Tournament Fundraiser hosted this year. 📘 A special shoutout to Jody Swann, MS/HS Cook Manager, who was selected by the senior class for the 2025 Yearbook Dedication in recognition of her warm spirit and unwavering commitment to our students and staff. 📚 Our 5th graders took center stage during a heartwarming Reading Night, where they proudly shared original books they wrote, illustrated, and published around the theme "Kindness is Our Jam.” Hosted in the auditorium, the event allowed students to bravely read their stories aloud to an audience of family, friends, and staff. Each class dedicated their books to members of our school community who make a difference in their daily lives — a beautiful gesture of gratitude and appreciation.
